Creative practice and my story
As a creative, I have travelled a long journey through mental health challenges and the health system. My creative practice has been my compass during this time, guiding me back to myself and wellness after years of feeling lost.
I explore themes of escapism, identity and folklore, rooted in my experiences and heritage. Through paint, costume and music, I delve into my identity and trauma, discovering who I aspire to be and finding new methods of communication.
Highly Skilled Lived experience mental health care worker and art facilitator
In the area of creative wellbeing, I bring years of lived experience and three years of formal volunteering across diverse sites which I still continue to devote my time towards. My journey has taken me through both inpatient and outpatient settings, as well community care, where I specialize in acute mental health. Working alongside dedicated occupational therapists, ward activity coordinators, art facilitators and peer supporters. I focus on encouraging our service users to explore new activities, learn new skills, and build confidence. Hopefully while finding therapeutic value in the process!

I have a deep appreciation for various creative practices, including music, art, creative writing, drama, 3D sculpture, ceramics, sewing, and dance. These mediums are not just hobbies for me; they are tools that enable individuals to express themselves and feel uplifted. I've had the privilege of leading numerous workshops, and nothing brings me more joy than receiving feedback from participants who are eager to return and continue their creative journeys. My goal is to inspire people to try new things, my hope is they will embrace these experiences again, motivating a lasting impact on their wellbeing.

Artist and creative practice, looking to
the future.
I feel a sense of hope and excitement for the road ahead. As I embark in creating larger works that push my creative skills, experimenting with mixed media, 3D elements and costuming; based on my own original designs. I want to start openly exploring my queer identity through my art, as my art allows me to reflect my internal self.
I'm looking towards more art fairs and showcases to connect with fellow creatives. I look forward to sharing my vibrant worlds with others and meet more in the communities I hold dear.
